Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.  Proverbs 22:6 (NIV 1984)

When I was little, I wanted to be a nurse. Then I saw blood, and I’ve wanted to be a teacher ever since. My childhood plans became reality when I graduated from Martin Luther College in 2006 and was assigned to Bethany Lutheran School in Kenosha, WI. A few weeks ago I started my 10th year teaching 1st and 2nd grade. Lots of things have changed in my classroom from my first year of teaching. Sometimes I wish I could go back in time and do a better job with some of my first classes. One thing has remained the same though — teaching my kiddos about God’s Word is the absolute best part of my day.

I want our Bible lesson time to be the best part of their day as well. If they leave my classroom knowing nothing else except that Jesus loves them, died for them, and they get to go to heaven, I’ve succeeded. Finding new resources and especially new technology tools to help make our lessons more memorable and applicable to their lives has become a passion of mine. I’m excited to share this passion on Bread for Beggars.
