The Bread for Beggars Festival–A Feast with Friends
Bread for Beggars, which exists to share God’s glory through sight, song, and story, has been for the past ten years sharing Christian music, artwork, and storytelling on its website and social media through weekly content. After all those years of being a digital organization with just a few pop-up art galleries and presentations here and there, we are eager to bring together some of our favorite WELS artists, musicians, and storytellers at the first-ever Bread for Beggars Festival.
The Bread for Beggars team is excited to announce that from June 11-13, 2020, the Bread for Beggars Festival will be taking place in downtown Fond du Lac, WI. We anticipate a crowd of 300 participants for this three-day creative/fine arts festival taking place at The Hotel Retlaw, Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts, and Essential Rock Church.
Full Festival
What will the Bread for Beggars Festival be like?
One of the festival contributors recently said, “It’s going to be like the best feast ever, except for the food shared (in addition to some really good physical food) is going to be sights, songs, and stories that will fill us full with the grace and glory of God.”
YES! That’s what it’s going to be like. And more…
Imagine spending three days with friends that you just meet that already feel like forever friends and getting to see, sing, and savor the glory of God with them. It’s actually kind of hard to explain in all in just a few words. You will just have to come and experience it for yourself. You won’t regret it.
At the Bread for Beggars Festival you will feast with friends for three incredible days of breaking and partaking in bread both literally and figuratively. You will leave the festival full in so many ways, but already looking forward to feasting with your friends old and new again real soon at another Bread for Beggars Festival.
Free Friday Festival
Along with planning for the FULL FESTIVAL, we are preparing for an additional 2000 attendees to descend upon downtown Fond du Lac for the FREE FRIDAY portions of the Bread for Beggars Festival.
On Friday, June 12, from 4:00-9:00 pm the FREE FRIDAY portion of the Bread for Beggars Festival will feature three different concert stages, multiple art galleries, hands-on art experiences, food trucks, vendors, and much more! We are planning for at least sixteen solo/group musical acts to perform sets throughout the afternoon/evening culminating with a final set by Koiné on the main stage located outside the Thelma. It’s going to be an incredible evening of sights, songs, and stories for the whole family.
