Lord When Your Glory performed by Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary Chorus
Lord When Your Glory: About
This is the last stanza of Paul Gerhardt’s hymn “A Lamb Goes Uncomplaining Forth”, beautifully set to the tune Wedding Glory by Kurt J. Eggert.
Lord When Your Glory: Lyrics
Lord, when your glory I shall see
And taste your kingdom’s pleasure,
Your blood my royal robe shall be,
My joy beyond all measure!
When I appear before your throne,
Your righteousness shall be my crown;
With these I need not hide me.
And there, in garments richly wrought,
As your own bride I shall be brought,
To stand in joy beside you.

About the Performers: Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary Chorus
This is one of the songs the Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary (WLS) Chorus sang in the Duke University Chapel while on their 2012 choir tour. While touring the chapel, the members of the chorus just couldn’t resist to sing a couple of songs in the good acoustic space.
For almost 80 years the WLS Chorus has appeared regularly in congregations of the Wisconsin Synod to proclaim the Word of God in song and to represent the ministry of the seminary. Membership in the WLS Chorus is open to all students, and the group rehearses three times each week. The choir presents an annual Christmas Concert, performed twice on the second Sunday in December to several thousand guests. A Graduation Concert is held the evening before the seminary’s graduation service in May. The choir regularly participates in worship at nearby congregations during the school year and conducts a concert tour every during the seminary’s mid-semester break or over the Easter vacation. The 2013 tour (February 28-March 5) took the choir to WELS congregations in Illinois, Kentucky, Georgia, and Alabama. The chorus has appeared in 40 of the United States as well as in Canada during its long history.
Recordings on compact disc (CD) of recent programs by the Seminary Chorus are available for sale at $12.00, postpaid. To order contact Diane Heisler at heislerd@wls.wels.net or call (262) 242-8141.
